FOBID is the platform where all library types in the Netherlands can meet. This is the place to exchange knowledge and make agreements about standards that can promote the exchange between libraries and enhance access for users.
FOBID does not have a standing committee for this, but facilitates cooperation when developments occur in this area.
Resource Description & Access (RDA) is an international standard for cataloging practice that has also become the standard in the Netherlands:
Interlibrary loan is an effective way of providing broad access to what Dutch library collections have to offer. The Dutch University libraries and the Koninklijke Bibliotheek (UKB) have recently switched to a new system for interlibrary loan (ILL). The existing NCC-IBL system has been replaced by Worldshare-ILL, an international system for ILL. Read more on the UKB website.
