The Netherlands’ Librarian Exchange Program for European Librarians
Now is your chance to come to The Netherlands and visit a library in any field of your choice to do just that! Dutch public libraries, school libraries, government libraries, academic and research libraries: they all open their doors to you to share their experience and knowledge and to show you all the different types of Dutch libraries. You get to discover all different practices on a subject of your choice, while strengthening your resume with invaluable international experience and knowledge.
The aim of this program is to learn best practices from each other, discover new ideas and innovations, establish invaluable professional contacts, and open eyes to how libraries achieve their numerous aims in other European countries. The program is an initiative of the international advocacy committee of FOBID, the Dutch umbrella association of sectoral library associations.
The program is meant for librarians within the European Union.
How to apply:
You pick and choose your preferred host library and activities from the Building Blocks overview and establish contact with them through the contact form. The library you work at is responsible for your travel and lodging, logistics and other expenses.
Come and visit The Netherlands, the library doors are open!
Note: this FOBID EU-based program is not part of or affiliated in any way with the European Commission’s Erasmus+ program.
